Why join

Membership that works for your business

Membership improves the consistency and quality of the services you provide, reduces your operational risk, opens trade connections and, most importantly, gives the public a reason to choose you.

Credibility clients can check

Property managers, insurers and buyers increasingly ask whether a provider is accredited. A directory listing and the Trusted Member badge answer that question before it is asked, and set you apart in an industry where anyone can claim to be an expert.

Lower operational risk

Working to a consistent, published standard reduces disputes, re-work and liability. Access to legal advice and guidance on complex jobs helps you make defensible decisions when results are borderline or a client challenges a report.

A professional network

Connect with testers, decontaminators, laboratories and researchers. Referrals between independent testing and decontamination members are one of the most valuable parts of membership.

A voice in the rules

Full members have a say in how standards evolve and in the positions NAMC takes with government and regulators. When legislation arrives, you will have helped shape it.

How it works

The accreditation pathway

Accreditation is a sequence. Each step builds evidence that your business does what it says, to the standard the public expects.

  1. Check eligibility

Confirm your business type and the qualifications required for your category.

  2. Apply online

Submit your application with qualifications, insurance and sample documents.

  3. Document review

The board reviews your procedures, reports and Remediation Action Plans.

  4. Provisional membership

Join as a standard member and complete your provisional obligations.

  5. Report audit

The board may request any testing report or RAP to confirm compliance.

  6. Full membership

Receive full status and the NAMC Trusted Member badge.

Questions

Membership FAQs

Is NAMC membership a legal licence?

No. There is currently no single national licence for methamphetamine testing or decontamination in Australia. NAMC accreditation is an industry standard that shows clients you meet defined qualification, insurance and procedural requirements and that your work can be audited.

How long does accreditation take?

Most complete applications are reviewed within a few weeks. Standard members then complete provisional obligations before moving to full membership. The time this takes depends on how quickly you can demonstrate compliant reports and procedures.

Can I be a testing member and a decontamination member?

Businesses that offer both services must apply for each category and meet the requirements of both. Members must not validate their own remediation work. Clearance testing should always be done by an independent tester.

What happens if a complaint is made about my business?

The board reviews the complaint and may request the relevant testing report or RAP. You will be given the opportunity to respond. Outcomes range from no action to required corrective steps, and in serious cases suspension or removal from the directory.
